Sizing & Fit Guide
How to measure yourself accurately, understand size charts, and choose between standard and made-to-measure for the perfect fit.
Introduction: Why Proper Sizing Matters
Fit is everything when it comes to intimate apparel and body-conscious garments. A piece that is too loose loses its intended silhouette and can look unflattering, while one that is too tight restricts movement, causes discomfort, and puts excessive stress on seams and material. Latex, leather, and stretch fabrics each have unique fit characteristics â and getting the sizing right on the first order saves time, money, and disappointment. This guide explains how to take accurate measurements, read our size charts, and decide whether standard sizing or our made-to-measure service is right for you.
How to Take Your Measurements
You will need a flexible fabric tape measure (not a metal one), a mirror, and ideally a friend to help. Wear only lightweight undergarments â or nothing at all â to avoid bulk skewing the numbers. Stand naturally with your weight evenly distributed on both feet. Do not hold your breath or suck in your stomach.
Chest / Bust: Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, keeping it level and snug but not tight. For people with breasts, measure around the fullest point of the bust. Note this number in centimeters.
Waist: Measure at the narrowest point of your torso, typically just above the navel. Bend slightly to the side â the crease that forms is your natural waistline. Keep the tape comfortably snug.
Hips: Stand with feet together and measure around the widest point of your hips and buttocks. The tape should be parallel to the floor.
Inseam: Measure from the crotch seam to the ankle bone along the inside of the leg. It helps to measure a pair of well-fitting pants laid flat rather than measuring on-body.
Neck: Wrap the tape around the base of your neck where a collar would sit. Insert one finger between the tape and your skin for comfort allowance.
Write all measurements down immediately. Remeasure twice to confirm accuracy â even a 1â2 cm difference can affect which size fits best.
Understanding Size Charts
Our products list sizes in two ways: standard letter sizes (XS through 3XL) and exact centimeter measurements. The letter sizes follow international unisex conventions, but because body shapes vary widely, you should always cross-reference your actual measurements against the centimeter chart rather than relying on the letter alone.
Each product page displays a size chart specific to that garment. Look for your largest measurement â for example, if your waist falls in size M but your hips fall in size L, choose size L. Garments that are slightly loose in one area can be taken in, but a garment that is too small in any dimension will be uncomfortable and may tear under stress.
For stretch materials (latex, spandex blends), the chart reflects the garment at rest. These materials will conform to your body, so the size chart dimensions may be slightly smaller than your actual measurements â this is expected. The product description will note the recommended stretch allowance.
Made to Measure: What It Means
At KinxKlub, selected products are available in a made-to-measure (MtM) option. Instead of choosing a letter size, you provide your exact body measurements and we construct the garment to fit you precisely. This is ideal for customers who fall between standard sizes, have non-standard proportions, or simply want a truly bespoke fit.
How it works: On product pages that offer MtM, you will see a 'Made to Measure' tab. Enter your measurements in the fields provided â the system will show you which dimensions are required for that specific garment (e.g., a top needs chest, waist, and arm length; pants need waist, hips, inseam, and thigh). If you have saved measurements in your profile, they will be pre-filled automatically.
MtM orders typically take 5â10 additional business days compared to standard sizing, as each piece is cut and assembled individually. Because MtM garments are made specifically for you, they cannot be returned for a size-related refund â so double-check your measurements before ordering.
Tips for First-Time Buyers
Start with one piece. If you are new to latex or body-conscious garments, order a single item first to learn your sizing before committing to a full outfit.
Read product reviews. Other customers often mention whether a garment runs large, small, or true to size â this real-world feedback is invaluable.
Consider your use case. A garment for a night out might benefit from a snugger fit for a sleek look, while something for extended wear or active movement should have a more relaxed fit.
Account for layering. If you plan to wear anything underneath the garment (body stockings, underwear, thermal layers), add 1â2 cm to your measurements to accommodate the extra bulk.
When in doubt, contact us. Our support team can review your measurements and recommend the best size for any product. Include your measurements and the product name in your message.
When to Size Up vs. Size Down
Size up when: - You are between two sizes on the chart. - The garment is non-stretch (leather, PVC, structured fabrics). - You prefer a more comfortable, relaxed fit. - You plan to layer underneath. - The product reviews mention the item runs small.
Size down when: - You want a very snug, body-hugging silhouette (common with latex catsuits and bodysuits). - The garment is highly elastic and the product notes recommend sizing down. - Your measurements are at the very bottom of a size range.
When in doubt, size up. It is much easier (and cheaper) to have a garment taken in than to stretch one that is too small. For our MtM products, this dilemma disappears entirely â your garment will be built to your exact dimensions.
